The DMI-2 option consists of two temperature sensors, a barometric pressure sensor, a small tower and cables to connect the sensors to the SPU. The additional temperature sensor is to measure the temperature gradient.

The DMI-2 allows automatic measurement and recording of temperature and pressure and using such data in the online processing of the output quantities of an SLS Series scintillometer to increase accuracy. Additionally, the two temperature sensors for two different height levels permit to automatically distinguishes between unstable and stables conditions
