The Scintec MFAS is a versatile acoustic profiler for the measurement of wind and turbulence up to 1000 m above the ground. The operation is based on the reflection of acoustic pulses at temperature inhomogeneities in the air with subsequent doppler analysis. The instrument can replace towers, tethered balloons or radiosondes at a fraction of the operational costs. With its small size and low weight, the system can be easily transported and installed. Its low power consumption also facilitates the unmanned operation in remote areas.
MFAS can be further upgraded by RASS Extensions (RAE2 and windRASS) for precise measurements of temperature profiles. In addition to temperature, the windRASS model also performs wind measurements with the combined radio-acoustic measurement technique, which ensures a robust measurement that works anywhere and anytime.
for SFAS, MFAS, XFAS
The Scintec RAE2 RASS Extension upgrades any Sodar models (SFAS, MFAS or XFAS) to allow precise measurements of temperature profiles in the atmospheric boundary layer.
for SFAS and MFAS
The Scintec windRASS Extension upgrades the Sodar models SFAS or MFAS to work in radio-acoustic mode for precise measurements of both wind and temperature.
For operation of a MFAS system with AC power.
For operation of MFAS Antenna Heating with AC power.
for SFAS and MFAS
This power adapter allows for DC operation of SFAS or MFAS.
for SFAS and MFAS
This power cable allows for DC operation of SFAS Antenna Heating and MFAS Antenna Heating.
The small acoustic enclosure is directly mounted at the top of MFAS antenna. It consists of four panels that are equipped with sound absorption linings.
The large acoustic enclosure is placed on the ground surrounding the MFAS antenna. It consists of sixteen panels that are equipped with sound absorption linings.
with Electronic Compartment and Acoustic Enclosure
This accessory consists of a support stand for the MFAS Antenna with an electronic compartment and an acoustic enclosure on the top, which is equipped with sound absorption linings.
This set of RS485 Converters permits to extend the length of the data cable between a SFAS, MFAS or XFAS system and the user PC.
This extension cable (100-500 m) can be used in conjunction with the RS485 Converter Set. (The wood cable reel is not included in this product)
This is the standard model for reliable and continuous wind measurements with proven performance.
The larger antenna aperture of this model provides the highest performance and clutter resilience that the most critical applications demand.
SFAS is a high-performance acoustic Wind Profiler with a compact and lightweight design, which provides the highest spatial resolution among the FAS series.
XFAS is a long-range acoustic Wind Profiler optimized for the measurement of wind and turbulence up to boundary layer height.
AWAIRE Aviation is a hardware, software and service package which is designed to provide the most complete, accurate and reliable information about upper winds and temperatures and to bring this to airport controllers, managers, meteorologists and pilots. AWAIRE Aviation uses a variety of the most advanced sensing technologies to continuously measure all relevant wind, temperature and turbulence parameters in the area of the departure and climb paths with high distance resolution, precisely and in near real-time. This includes wind speed and direction relative to the airplane as well as both, turbulence (EDR), vertical wind shear and density altitude.
AWAIRE® Air Quality is a hardware, software and service package which provides a complete solution for monitoring and forecasting the dispersion of pollutants in industrial areas and their surroundings. AWAIRE® AQ receives all inventory data, applies wind and temperature profilers and uses surface meteorological sensors to continuously measure all relevant atmospheric boundary layer parameters. All data is filtered, processed and ingested in a pollutant dispersion model, supported by an atmospheric forecast model. AWAIRE® AQ can also be also used to simulate scenarios. The results are shown in a web based interface.
